Nova vs. Williams

Sunday 4/15, 8:05 PM ET at Yankee Stadium

Ivan Nova (1-0, 2.57 ERA) will be coming off a masterful start in which he allowed 2  runs in 7 innings, walking none and striking out 7, for the Yankees’ first win of the season. He’s 1-1 with a 3.75 ERA in two career starts vs. the LA Angels. He is looking to bring the Yankees to a win after getting crushed 7-1 yesterday. The Yankees are also hoping to win the rubber game of the series, winning the first game and losing the second.

Jerome Williams (0-0, -.– ERA) missed most of the spring with a hamstring injury, but got through two Minor League  outings and will make his first appearance at Yankee Stadium. He posted a 3.68 ERA in 44  innings in 2011. Williams is hoping to bring the Angels to the last game of the 3 game series in which the Angels went 1-1 so far.

I think Ivan Nova will easily cruise to a victory, going 6 innings, while Nick Swisher and Alex Rodriguez enjoy good days at the plate. I think the score will be 5-2.
